The reality of addiction involves the pattern and cycle of addiction and what it takes to recover from its depths. Our clients – all women – can find themselves homeless and struggling with addiction for a variety of complex and interrelated reasons. It's not a one-size-fits-all situation, and socioeconomic factors don't limit this reality.

Our team of professionals is led by our new executive director, Bakir Coulter. She has 26+ years of military service and leadership experience, is a wife, mother, and advocate for women, and is the right person for the job! We are a 501(c)3 non-profit that relies on volunteers, donors, and partners to meet the needs of our clients.

Over the last 11 months, we have served 43 women in our program. We are proud to share that 72 percent of them completed the 90-day program. According to SAMHSA data, the nationwide average completion threshold is 47 percent.

Why are we reaching out to you?

These numbers all sound great, but when you look at the cost per day for a client in treatment, it goes fast. The average cliet is with us for 90 days. The average daily cost to treat the client is $129, plus food and shelter. If you do the math, that is almost $12,000 per client.

We operate on a very tight budget, and our staff maximizes every dime we receive. In 2023, we built a commercial-grade kitchen to serve our clients. In 2024, we were blessed with donations that helped us improve our clients' living conditions, thanks to generous partners like Bridgeway Church. In 2025, we faced outdated plumbing in our aging building.

We’ve been able to overcome each obstacle. We know the future will always bring more challenges, but we are holding firm to the belief and commitment of our founder, Reba Harris.
